Sig p365 slide release hard to push

On both of my p320s the slide buttons have always worked well/smoothly when using them as a slide release, even right out of the box. I have noticed similar situations to what the OP describes (having to apply ridiculous pressure to release the slide on a new gun) in both certain new glocks and in particular with a Hudson H9 (was absurdly hard).

With your weak hand, grab the slide with your thumb and index finger pointing to the rear instead of the front. Pinch the rear serrations and do not move that hand. Assuming you are right handed hold the grip firmly with your right hand and take a firm overhand grip of your slide behind the extractor. Now PUSH the grip forward while holding the slide firmly.
