If you want a flat land for large base, Boskar Beach or Boskar Meadow. Close enough to most important locations, some modest metal and obsidian nodes at stone's throw. On the west coast beach, about halfway down the map there is a part of the beach that stretches out pretty flat, right next to an inlet that goes up to a waterfall. It's a great place to set up - not alot of enemy spawns, centrally located, etc. Good starting point. 3.Lost island beautiful base locations.
