Colt sp1 serial number lookup

The Colt serial number lookup on their website is a joke. The rear sight is a Bomar clone and not a real Bomar since that company went out of business quite a few years back. Hence it has Colt stamped on the left side. Here's mine bought in late 2021. It has the same Colt marking on the left side of the rear sight. I still haven't shot it yet.

I recently aquired a Colt Model 1901. The serial number behind the cylinder and on the cylinder release is 2229. It is marked US ARMY No. 62229 on the butt. According to Colt Serial number lookup, seial number 2229 was made in 1892. But it is a model 1901 AND it has a MAR 5, 95 patent date on the barrel, which looks to be original to the gun.
