Dodge durango no start

Occasionally the Durango won't start. My daughter says that when it won't start, the ring indicating what gear the truck is in won't light up around Park and Neutral only. It lights around Reverse and the Drive gears. Everything else seems to be working fine. Air blows. Headlights work etc.

Simply try the ideal starting procedure (<5 seconds crank), pull a spark plug and check for fuel. Finally I changed the neutral safty switch and everything was great for about 48 hours. Keep in mind, that if the battery has gone dead, been unhooked, replaced, etc. some of the codes may have cleared. Start with the ignition key at the off position. Rotate it from off to run (not start) 3 time within 5 seconds. you'll end up leaving it in run. Any stored codes will display on the odometer readout.
