Some apps aren't fully functional even on 10. Android 9 was the tipping point. Google wants all the older apps to be in full compliance now. It's not a matter of a few simple changes either for most older apps. I'm watching this to see how it plays out. I have a bunch of legacy apps I'm not going to part with including a free WPS Office.
